Good to know

Welcome to Spectacle Lake! We bought this property as a getaway for our families and our friends. Our 2 acre lake front property was a long time RV Resort. We recently built our two bed chalet so that we could enjoy the lake and area throughout all seasons of the year. Several of the RV and tent spaces remain and so we offer the chalet to you at times we and/or friends may be comfortably glamping away. The living room and kitchen are spacious, open and set for gathering. The large covered deck is perfect for enjoying the outdoors rain, snow, or shine. Two comfortable bedrooms and a full bathroom with tub are located off the kitchen and family room. There is an open grassy space for field games, docks, kayaks, a canoe, paddle boat, and fire pits for you to enjoy as you like. You also have access to 2 brand new full bathrooms with showers on the lower level of the chalet and another small bathroom and outdoor shower. Trails and service roads abound throughout the area for hiking, backpacking, atv adventures, or winter snowmobile touring depending upon the season. Enjoy your stay!

Other Details to Note

When getting outside the property, the beautiful Okanogan area provides many opportunities. Visit a ghost town, Sinlahekin Wildlife Area (~14,000 acres) or bring your passport and head to Canada! We are about 30 minutes from the border with some amazing wineries, approximately 100 in the region. Spectacle Lake is a reservoir feeding irrigation water to the many farms and orchards in the surrounding area. The lake level begins to drop by late July but is generally accessible to early September from our docks and remains accessible via boat launch to October. Visiting us in rural North-Central Washington, brings you to the center of the many lakes area. Just minutes from the small town of Loomis and 30 minutes to the Canadian border provides many wildlife viewing opportunities as you roam between fields of orchards, rolling hills, and up into the base of the Cascade range in the Loomis State Forest. Big Horn Sheep, Deer, Moose, Bear, and Turkey each inhabit the nearby surround and the Sinlahekin Wildlife Area. Being a former RV resort means there may be a bit of a friends and family "neighborhood" around the Chalet you'll be staying in. Depending on the timing of your visits one of the owners or our friends may be staying in one of the RV spaces on the property.

Guest Access

You'll have full and private access to the chalet and the property. All the amenities and comfort of home await. The kitchen has all the necessities to prepare a meal. It is stocked to meet your basic needs for when you finally come in from the various adventures available. Fishing here is great (Trout, Bass, Perch, and Kokanee), step out to the large deck area to grill your day’s catch outside on the barbeque! As a former RV Resort, you'll also have access to the remaining amenities, and enjoy water access just steps away from your front door. Plenty of portable and stationary fire pits to set up your own space or join with others who may be also vacationing on site. Needing space for an extended group?</b> Often available are RV and tent spaces to accommodate those larger groups. Exterior bathrooms and showers are available outside the chalet. Family gatherings, small group retreats, and wedding parties have taken advantage of the property as a whole. Contact us to discuss these options if you have a small group event in the works.

If you want peace, tranquility and a small private family gathering ….. This is the ideal Airbnb! There is lots to do on the property and in town if you choose to be out there. Love how the Chalet has two bathrooms and a shower downstairs if you are out enjoying Lake activities. Beautiful view from the patio deck overlooking the lake. The Hosts are very helpful, supportive and caring. They keep the Chalet very clean and dust free. And are attentive to your needs. We will return to this Airbnb in the future. Thanks Tom and Amy for the comfortable stay at your Chalet.

Great place. Loved BBQing and relaxing on the deck. Well stocked kitchen, everything we needed was there. Liked the great room setup, living room, island, kitchen and deck all flow together into one hangout area. Grounds were clean, being lakefront was awesome, would walk down to the dock daily. Lots of outdoor activities to do in the area.

Great place to stay for a weekend getaway! Plenty of outdoor recreation at the lake or right nearby, and the Chalet had everything we needed for cooking and having a comfortable time away from home. Tom was a perfect host - super responsive, helpful and accommodating from the time of booking throughout our entire stay. Highly recommended.

Find us

Our lake property is set in a peaceful rural setting where public transportation is very limited. We suggest guests secure their own transportation to access a small grocery three miles West to Loomis or the larger grocery, restaurants, and activities in Tonasket 15 miles to the East. Plenty of room for vehicle parking as well as a boat or utility trailer should you bring one along to enjoy the lake(s) or surrounding land with ATV exploration.
